McCaskill's Office Hosts Free Economic Development and Grant Training Workshop in St. Louis
Experts will provide organizations with training on how to apply for federal grant funding
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Even though we are beginning to see signs of recovery, many Missourians are still feeling an economic crunch and often small businesses, local governments, and non-profit organizations are looking for help from the federal government. On November 14th, the office of U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill will host an Economic Development and Grant Training Workshop to provide resources and useful tools to organizations to help them access federal grant and loan programs supporting public infrastructure, job growth, business development and other needs.

Competitive federal grants and low-interest government loans bring federal assistance to Missouri in an honest and fiscally responsible manner. The McCaskill office’s workshop will help provide the resources Missouri’s organizations need to apply for these federal dollars.
McCaskill believes helping organizations learn how to access federal dollars through competitive grant and loan programs is an important step in ensuring Missouri’s economic development and keeping the awarding of federal dollars transparent.
Representatives from the federal and state agencies will aim to provide information and resources to small businesses, local governments, chambers of commerce, and non-profit organizations on how they access federal stimulus dollars and other grants. Presenters will include representatives from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Missouri’s Economic Stimulus Team, East-West Gateway Council, Small Business Administration, Missouri Department of Economic Development, Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance, Missouri Department of Transportation, Environmental Protection Agency, and the University of Missouri – St. Louis.
This event is free and open to the public and members of the press.
